MAGNET Communicator is an open-hardware short-range voice radio (up to about 3 km) based on MANET — a mobile ad-hoc network that needs no base station and no licence. The NGI page lists it as MANET voice communicator, run by Radiofar & Co. SRL.
The grant covers schematics, firmware, 3D-printable enclosure files, and assembly instructions, using widely available permit-free parts so devices stay repairable and do not become e-waste when a chip vendor disappears. Intended uses include hiking, search and rescue, and other cases where conventional infrastructure is missing or destroyed.
